ABOUT US

Overview

The Eist Cancer Support centre started life as the Carlow Breast Cancer Support Group which was set up by a group of breast cancer survivors in 2004. Eist is a registered charity (CHY16678), affiliated to the Irish Cancer Society. The centre opened to the public in October 2012 at the Waterfront, Mill Lane, Carlow for the benefit of all county Carlow citizens and those who live in the surrounding areas.

A cancer diagnosis can be a life shattering experience for the whole family and the Eist centre is a peaceful, tranquil, supportive place where all those affected by cancer can avail of support.

Core Values

Our mission is to provide emotional support and practical help to anyone affected by cancer, their families and friends.

We aim to treat all our clients and their information with respect and confidentiality. We will be honest and ethical in all our dealings and conduct ourselves in a professional, responsible way always.

Testimonials

“I’m a client of Eist and love, love, love the work they do for us.”

“Eist is like my extended Family only better because I’m not emotionally involved. Things come up at the group meeting that you can’t talk to family about. I meet people now I can bond with whereas before they were just another face in the crowd, now they are my friends.”

“A huge huge thank you to all who helped in any way to establish this wonderful centre of support and healing. It is a wonderful place to visit and I’m truly blessed to be in touch with so many amazing people. The care and support I receive here is an amazing gift of my cancer. Many many thanks.”

“Just to say “thank you” all for the wonderful caring support we both received during Mam’s journey with cancer. The wonderful caring support we both received during Mam’s journey with cancer. The warm welcome into the centre, and the many happy hours she spent with you were priceless to her, and to me. The happiness and joy you brought to her final weeks was unmeasurable. May the blessings you gave us be returned to you all 100 fold.”

“Eist support was my relief when my husband was ill. They really got me through some very hard times during his illness and death. I can never thank them enough.”
